This course helps students understand how various species affect aquatic ecosystems and the importance of protecting the health of our oceans. As students develop the ability to categorize various forms of aquatic life and understand how they interact and depend on one another, they develop an appreciation for the complexity of ecosystems and the severe consequences of disasters, like extinction and pollution. Ultimately, students are able to see the world from the perspective of a marine biologist and deeply understand how human interaction has affected marine habitats.
Students are given a simple self-assessment to ensure they retained the knowledge and skills foundational to marine biology. This review allows students to determine whether or not they have sufficiently learned the material on marine biology and conservation.TAKE THE CLASS
